After finishing their 2016 season 18-3, and coming up short last year to Souhegan in the tournament, the Portsmouth High School boys baseball team is hungry for a championship.

After losing seniors like Kobie Taylor, who now is playing for the Texas Rangers in their Arizona league, and other seniors (Charlie Kendall, Justin Lent, Brady Russ,) and losing Kyle Maurice to Exeter High School, the team has some pretty big shoes to fill.

These shoes seem to be in the process of being filled quickly, with big-time players returning in Beau Arsenault, Dylan Chase, Max Mallila, Peyton Goodrich, Nate Rand and Trevor Van Allen, along with up and coming seniors Kyle Pufahl and Kyle Griffin. Hopes are high for a championship this year.

This season will be a testament as Beau Arsenault and other seniors battle for the ring that has hid from them the past four years. But, team morale is up, and it looks like it’s going to be a great season. GO CLIPPERS!
