The city of Portsmouth NH has a wide variety of food choices to offer. Here some interesting restaurants with tastes that foodies definitely should consider.

  1. Shalimar India – The oldest Indian restaurant in Portsmouth, it has a great authentic Indian taste that you may be willing to try. This place has many unique spices. They serve chicken, lamb and seafood but they also have a vegetarian option. I’d recommend this place if you really love spicy foods.
  2. Dos Amigos – A wonderful Mexican restaurant that has weekly deals like taco Tuesday and burrito onday. Great food that will not burn a hole in your pocket.
  3. Dozo – A bit on the pricier side but it’s got some nice Japanese dishes like sushi and dumplings. It seems like a good place to go with a larger group of people.
  4. Cafe Mediterraneo – A good sit down, bistro atmosphere with Italian food. They are known for their roasted duck and lobster ravioli.
  5. Durbar Square Restaurant – Quality Himalayan food, a new restaurant in Portsmouth. The food they make comes from Nepal and it’s fresh and protein rich. They have vegetarian and vegan options too. Great for someone who is health conscious.
  6. Ghillies – An old fashioned wooden diner that serves American food, it’s an experience that’s hard to find anywhere else. A true Portsmouth classic.
  7. Habibi Mediterranean Cafe – Homestyle Lebanese food, they have kebabs, middle eastern pizza and hummus.
