De Stefano’s Market on 517 Middle Street in Portsmouth is an outstanding addition to the Portsmouth community, and a convenient location for Portsmouth residents. This market is owned by Rebecca Bernier and her family. The market was officially opened October 10, 2023.

 As I walked through the front door, I was hit with the smell of fresh baked bread, meats, Italian cuisine, and a family friendly environment. The sandwiches are enormous and delicious, but it is a bit pricey. I ordered the italian sandwich, it was definitely bigger than I expected but very enjoyable. 

Even though it may be expensive, I believe it was worth every penny with all of the hard work put into it. They have a large variety of items you can order, including prepared foods such as calzones, sandwiches, and soups. There is also a portion of the market where you can buy packaged Italian goods, like past, olive oil and many other products you find in an Italian village. This is also convenient for people who want to shop for other Italian ingredients to add to their meals. 

De Stefano’s created an environment that is suitable for kids where they can get food while hanging out with their friends. There is an arcade game you can play and places to sit and eat. Everything I tried has been astonishing quality. The workers are very friendly and respectful to their customers as well. 

Outstanding work at De Stefano’s Market! Despite how new they are to the community they have effectively been able to bring more culture, tasty food, and an even better environment for kids to hangout in Portsmouth.
