There seems to be  myth that while pregnant that if your baby listens to music he or she will be smarter. In 1993, a study showed that music doesn’t make your baby smarter. It doesn’t do anything to baby. It just makes you have some muffled music. Although, when your baby is born, music can help the brain to develop in several different ways. The first way is when the child learns better is it help to interpret sensory skills such as, hearing, touch, and sight. An example of this is when playing an instrument it can train the brain to pick out certain sounds and can help the brain adapt to learning new languages.

The study also shows that kids have a stronger connection between the left and right hemisphere of the brain. This strong connection developed at early ages changes white-matter connectivity. Why is this important though? Mainly because white matter actively affects how the brain learns and functions.
