With a recent win over Souhegan, the previous year DII state champions, the Clippers are fired up.

Going into the 3rd inning on 5/24, Portsmouth was down with a score of 0-2. With one out in the 3rd inning, things started to turn around dramatically.

Portsmouth High School 2016-17 senior, Kyle Pufahl, hit a grand-slam in the third quarter to spark some energy in the team. When asked if he thought it was going out of the fence and what his reaction was, he responded, “At first no, I thought I got it into the gap. And that was my main goal, to score some runs, and it definitely came in clutch since we were down at that point. When the tables were turned, we had enough momentum to win this game.”

He was congratulated at home-plate first by teammates Timm Kutzer (12), Jack Reaney (21) and Alex Gladu (27), as well as first-base coach, Jim Mackenzie.

Trevor Van Allen stayed on the mound the entire game as well as Calvin Hewett in center field and Timm Kutzer on 3rd-base.

The game ended in the 5th inning with a 10 run rule score of 16-4. This was the sixth time this season the Clippers have 10 run ruled someone.
