According to SeacoastOnline, “A Rockingham County grand jury indicted a city man on a felony charge alleging he may have placed others in danger of serious bodily injury by firing a weapon outside the White Cedar Boulevard apartment complex where he resides. The indictment alleges he discharged a weapon in a residential area where others were present on Sept. 7, 2016. Police said the following day the weapon was a rifle.”

This man, Adam Doyle, will serve 3 ½ to 7 years in prison and receive a $4,000 fine if he is found guilty. They will be taking the case to trial.

Apparently none of his neighbors came to respond when their doors were knocked on by the police and no one was hurt during the shooting. The next morning after receiving a warrant, police went into his house and arrested him.

Gun violence is something everyone should be cautious about despite where they live. Portsmouth is relatively a safe place, and people assume we don’t need to worry about things like shootings but everywhere has violence and we should be watching out for things like this.
