Student Opinion on Best Starting Job: Dunkin’ Donuts (Dunks)

As a senior at PHS, I have been working at Dunkin’ Donuts for four years, and I would highly recommend other students, that are eligible to work, to get a job at this franchise. There are many advantages that Dunkin’ Donuts has to offer: flexible schedule, competitive pay, complimentary food, and beverages.

During the training, before you even start working, you will get paid for the hours, doing no serious labor but learning about the company and the products. Then, on your first day, there will be no pressure. The kind-hearted mentors will teach you everything first, then once you are familiar with how things go,  they will let you go–while still being supervised. The employees are required to respect and accept all employees, especially to newbies. There is no tolerance towards any disrespectful manners or actions. It is safe to say that Dunkin’ Donuts treats their employees as a family and friends in a professional way–I personally respect how my co-workers treat me and vice versa.

During my first year working at Dunks, I got a $1 raise after working only for 3 months. As long as you work diligently and show that you are responsible and dependable, the manager will reward you a bonus gift or a raise.

Also, the scheduling at Dunkin Donuts is very flexible. You have to give a two weeks notice if you want to take days off, but if in case of emergency, last minute call outs are excused.

Last but not least, you can eat every donut you desire, make your favorite beverage, and assemble your own sandwich. All of these are for free. This is the best part of working at Dunkin’ Donuts.
