This movie is interesting, intriguing, and a little bit spooky. The movie stars Jack Black, playing the role of Uncle Jonathan who is a retired magician & secretly a warlock, Cate Blanchett playing the role of Mrs. Zimmerman, the caretaker of Uncle Jonathan’s house who also happens to be a witch, and Owen Vaccaro, who plays Lewis, a young boy who lost his parents.

The beginning of the movie opens with Lewis on his way to live with his uncle Jonathan. Upon his arrival at Uncle Jonathan’s Victorian mansion, Lewis begins to notice some strange things about the house. For example, a constant loud ticking through the walls, moving paintings and statues that seem to be alive. When Lewis finds out that his uncle is a warlock, he becomes curious about the magic that his uncle practices. When Lewis begins to learn about the magic, things take a turn for the worse.
