For high schoolers, a place with good food, quick service, and a convenient location is ideal, and Honey Ham Subs checks all these boxes.

Honey Ham is extremely popular, especially at Portsmouth High School. Being only around a 3-minute drive from the high school it’s a perfect location for off-campus lunch or just picking up a sandwich after a long day of school. 

According to Honey Ham Subs official website, “Established in 2003, Honey Ham Subs is a family-owned and operated eatery serving the Portsmouth area”. They serve high-quality meats, alongside homemade soups and other sides.

The shop provides many sub-options, with your classic cold cuts, chicken cutlet subs, and even vegetable-only options. All the subs there are amazing but the most popular are the Honey Bee Club, Smoke Stack, and Buffalo Bomb. 

For me though, my personal favorite is the Santa Fe Club. It has Santa Fe turkey, bacon, and cheddar cheese, with lettuce, tomato, onions, cucumbers, and ranch dressing on a toasted sub roll. Pair this sub with a cherry coke and some chips and you got yourself a 10/10 meal. All for under $20. 

In my opinion, Honey Ham Subs is as close to the perfect sub shop you can get. Providing Quality and fresh ingredients, fair pricing, convenient location, and a wide variety of food options. These all contribute to making Honey Ham Subs among the best sub shops in Portsmouth.
