The 2017-2018 season opener on Monday night was not one to be remembered by the Port City Pretzels.

The Pretzels lost to Insurcomm, 73 to 49, in their season debut as a team. The team was not expecting a loss of this caliber.

Star point guard, Jack Mcmanus (3), said, ”We played very poorly, and next game we will come back and have a better performance, I guarantee to all our fans out there.”

Two of the big contributors to the Pretzels’ loss, were the leading scorers for Insurcomm, Max Malila (14), and Andy Martensen (18). Caelan, “Black Mamba” Toar (5), said “I think we need to work on our defense, man and zone don’t work for us.” The Pretzels will look for their first win the next game versus A.C. Creek on Thursday, January 4th.
