Pizza in Portsmouth

Pizza in Portsmouth has been on an upward spiral in the last decade. With the new addition of Street Pizza, Portsmouth is becoming a great city for pizza. As a more youthful city, chains such as Joe’s New York Pizza, or Pizza Hut  have lost their local prominence. This is because younger people are more likely to support small, local business than those more senior.

Other than the up and coming Streetza, more local favorites include Flatbread, Portsmouth Pizza Factory, The Bratskellar,  and The Portsmouth Gas Light. Out of all of those, the most highly acclaimed is Flatbread. Though it may be louder and an environment issue for those of weaker hearing, Flatbread has been a wildly popular restaurant among food lovers in Portsmouth for almost two decades.

If you are more interested in a more quaint, quiet location, Portsmouth Pizza Factory and the Bratskellar are more what you may be looking for. In my personal opinion, the best delivery pizza belongs to Portsmouth Pizza Factory. Though it may be simple and limited, it is overall high quality as it abides by the fundamentals that make pizza good. Generally, the best advice I can give is to stick with pizza that is authentic and locally based.
